Development

The Healthcare Club is committed to helping its members with their professional development. The Club also has numerous programs dedicated to those members who are looking to transition into the healthcare industry (i.e. career switchers).

Grant Program

The Healthcare Club actively supports Club Members’ healthcare academic or service projects outside of HBS!  The Club is specifically looking for projects that will promote HBS, healthcare, and the Healthcare Club outside of the HBS community.

Examples include and are not limited to:

  • Community service project
  • Research related to a field study for a non-profit organization
  • Support for a volunteer consulting project for a non-profit healthcare client

Applicants are encouraged to be creative, but please remember that the Club is looking for projects that will add value to healthcare while promoting HBS and its interest in healthcare. Click here for an example of a past project.

Program Update: April 14, 2008:

The HCC Grant Program Committee would like to congratulate our first round award recipients: Sonali Duggal and Jun Fukuyoshi! Sonali and Jun are separately working on projects to evaluate potential entrepreneurial opportunities in HC. We hope this grant moves them closer to their goals and wish them the best of luck on their endeavors.

Round 2 of the program ended with a good increase in the volume of applications and awards, but we still have more than half of the original budget to finish the year with significant awards for many applicants. We are specifically looking for projects that will promote HBS, healthcare, and the healthcare club outside of the HBS community. Make sure that you have specific objectives for the requested funds and that you explain them clearly on the application. For example, we receive several applications requesting funding for travel; in those cases, we’d like to know what the objective of the trip is, why traveling is necessary and which activities in particular you plan to engage on.

Round 3 has now ended, results will be available soon.
